He was born on June 11, 1969, in Morristown, New Jersey with Achondroplasia which is a common form of dwarfism. However, he is the only dwarf in his entire family. When asked about how he felt about him being a dwarf as a teen, he said “As an adolescent, I was bitter and angry, and I definitely put up these walls. But the older you get, you realize you just have to have a sense of humor. You just know that it’s not your problem. It’s theirs.” His father John Carl Dinklage was an insurance salesman and Diane Dinklage was an elementary school music teacher. He also has an older brother named Jonathan who is a violinist.
