Robert Downey is an American actor as well as a singer who is famously known for his role of the Marvel Comics superhero Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in several movies. He was born on April 4, 1965, in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. His father Robert Downey Sr. is a filmmaker as well as an actor and his mother Elsie Ann was also an actor who appeared in his father’s movies. He also has an older sister named Allyson Downey who is also an actress and is 2 years older than him. When he was little, he and his family moved to Greenwich Village which is in the Lower Manhattan in New York City.
During Downey’s childhood, he was in an environment full of drugs. His father was a drug addict and also allowed his children to use marijuana at the age of six.
